Os dois circuitos são realizados em meio turno e podem ser feitos à tarde, aproveitando o pôr-do-sol ao final do dia.
Os circuitos levam os nomes das principais lagoas visitadas, porém também passarão por outras. O roteiro pode ser inclusive alterado pelos guias, dependendo da qualidade e da quantidade de água das lagoas ao redor. O Circuito Lagoa Azul passa pela Lagoa Azul, Lagoa da Preguiça, Lagoa da Esmeralda e Lagoa dos Peixes. Já o Circuito Lagoa Bonita passa pela Lagoa Bonita, Lagoa do Descanso, Lagoa do Maçarico e Lagoa do Clone.
2. Circuito Vassouras, Mandacaru e Caburé
Outro passeio no Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses é o Circuito Vassouras, Mandacaru e Caburé. Esse circuito também parte da cidade de Barreirinhas e é feito todo de lancha pelo Rio Preguiças. Esse passeio é uma boa alternativa para quem quer conhecer mais lagoas deste local paradisíaco.
A primeira parada desse passeio é no povoado de Vassouras, para um banho na lagoa dos Pequenos Lençóis. A segunda parada ocorre no povoado de Mandacaru, com direito a uma visita ao Mirante Preguiças. E esse passeio é finalizado no mar da Praia do Caburé, onde os visitantes podem parar para um belo almoço em frente ao mar.
3. Circuito Lagoa da Gaivota e Lagoa da Andorinha
Nos passeios partindo de Santo Amaro, essas duas lagoas são as mais populares do Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses. Esses passeios são muito solicitados por estarem próximos à cidade e porque os carros 4 x 4 praticamente chegam à beira das lagoas. Mas, para quem quiser fazer o trajeto a pé é bem tranquilo, afinal ele é curto, exige o mínimo de esforço, e oferece o máximo de aproveitamento.
O turista pode escolher entre fazer os dois circuitos separadamente ou juntos. Vale lembrar que essas duas lagoas não são as únicas no trajeto. Negociando com o guia e com o grupo que está fazendo o passeio, o roteiro pode ser modificado. É recomendado o passeio na parte da tarde. Realizando o passeio de carro, é feita uma parada no topo das dunas onde se tem uma vista incrível do Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses e ainda se pode aproveitar o pôr-do-sol.
4. Circuito da Lagoa das Sete Mulheres com a Lagoa da Capivara
Localizado entre o Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses e o mar, podemos encontrar o povoado de Atins. Esse é o local certo para quem quer curtir, relaxar e aproveitar com calma os passeios. Aqui também é o ponto de encontro para quem deseja praticar esportes. Atins é considerado um dos “picos” do kitesurf do Nordeste.
Se você tiver disposição, com uma hora de caminhada você conseguirá chegar às lagoas. Mas, se preferir, poderá fazer o passeio nos 4 x 4 até lá. Saindo de Atins, de carro, o passeio durará cerca de vinte minutos. Depois de passear nas lagoas você poderá aproveitar uma deliciosa refeição nos restaurantes do Seu Antônio e da Dona Luiza, que estão localizados entre as dunas de areias brancas e o mar.
5. Travessia dos Lençóis Maranhenses
Muitos viajantes que escolhem o Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses desejam fazer essa travessia. Os relatos são de que nela estão as lagoas mais belas do parque. A travessia pode ser feita em dois sentidos, porém, o recomendado é que seja feita de Atins para Santo Amaro, onde você fará o caminho com menos esforço.
A travessia do Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses leva de 3 à 5 dias, depende do ritmo do grupo e da rota escolhida. A travessia começa ou pelas dunas ou pelo mar, e sempre na madrugada, para que o calor não atinja o grupo. O trajeto feito durante o dia termina no meio da manhã, quando o sol “começa a esquentar” e o tempo varia de 4 à 5 horas. Depois disso, podem aproveitar as lagoas e continuar a travessia no dia seguinte.
Gastronomia
A gastronomia encontrada na Rota das Emoções, incluindo o Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses, é muito rica e variada. Pratos de carne e massa também são apreciados, como massa com filé ao molho madeira e espaguete ao molho de camarão.
Santo Amaro
Santo Amaro é famosa por ter as três lagoas mais bonitas do Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses. Além disso, alguns restaurantes fazem a fama da gastronomia do local. O Restaurante Recanto Preguiça tem pratos feitos no fogão à lenha, a horta comunitária fornece vegetais frescos, e os peixes são pescados no lago bem em frente.
